Statement of Faith
Ontario Mission of the Deaf / Evangelical Church of the Deaf
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally inspired word of God. The Holy Men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. The whole Bible is absolutely supreme and sufficient in authority in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are One God.
We believe the love of God our Father is for me and for all men, showing Himself through His Son Jesus Christ.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
We believe in the power of God the Holy Spirit as now present and working in the world, convincing men of sin, giving and increasing the faith of God's children in Christ and revealing Christ to us, kindling to our hearts, the Love of God and leading us to righteousness of life.
Communion: gathering around the Lord’s Table
We on occasion join with members around the Lord’s Table. It is open for any believer to partake in the two elements: bread and wine symbolizing the Lord’s body and shed blood for the purpose of proclaiming His death until He returns.
Baptism
We believe it is clear teaching in scripture and recognized in various methods practiced. Baptism, which is the immersion of the believer in water, whereby he obeys Christ’s command and sets forth his identification with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection.
Marriage
We believe is an honorable and holy estate instituted by God, sanctioned and blessed by Jesus Christ, and performed in Biblical tradition.

- God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. (John 3:16, John 10:10)
- Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for his life. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23)
- Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him, you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life. (Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3-6, John 14:6)
- We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord; then we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives. (John 1:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:1-8, Revelation 3:20)
